India joins Turkmenistan pipeline project

India has signed a multi-billion dollar Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan gas pipeline that will help meet its growing energy needs and also those of Pakistan. Indian Oil Minister Murli Deora and his counterparts from Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan signed a framework agreement for the $7.6 billion gas pipeline they aim to start building in 2010.
