Kedarnath evacuated, Badrinath next

Even as the mammoth multi-agency rescue and relief operations were put in place in flood-ravaged Uttarakhand, atleast 50,000 people are still said to be stranded in various parts of the state. ITBP chief Ajay Chadha said that the temple town of Kedarnath, worst hit by the 'Himalayan tsunami' has been cleared, after rescuing and airlifting the pilgrims to safer destinations and rescue team would try to open a road link between Gaurikund to Sonprayag on Friday to rescue stranded pilgrims.
