Mushrooming Profits

People in the northeast and specially tribals pick mushrooms for consumption from jungles. But they were unaware of the huge market potential that this humble vegetation enjoys, until the Mushroom Foundation or MDF, an NGO working to promote mushroom cultivation in the state came into the picture. The awareness programme was started last year and the people are responding to it well.
