National consensus needed on land acquisition bill: Ramesh

Underlining the importance of addressing land acquisition related tribal issues more effectively, rural development minister Jairam Ramesh said the government is trying to evolve a national consensus on the proposed land acquisition bill. Ramesh noted the new bill would not only compensate the farmers but also the landless people, whose livelihoods will be lost due to land acquisition.
