The Government has made it clear that oil prices won't be hiked. However, the pressure of rising international prices is growing. The government may have looked at the aam aadmi perspective but without hurting the phenomenal nine to 10 per cent growth rate. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is worried about mounting subsidies. The government says that it needs to look into the mounting subsidies on petroleum, food and fertilisers.
