No sanction to prosecute Mayawati

In a major relief for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, Governor T V Rajeswar has refused to grant sanction to prosecute her in the Rs 175 crore Taj Corridor scam holding there was no prima facie case and that corruption and forgery charges against the BSP supremo does "not stand scrutiny." Mayawati, along with some cabinet colleagues and top officials, was booked for siphoning off 175 billion rupees allotted for the project.
