Extending financial support to spur development in the world's poorest continent, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called for an enhancement in trade ties with the African nations on Tuesday. Singh, who is presently on a state-visit to Ethiopia, said this while addressing delegates at the second India-Africa summit in the national capital Addis Ababa. Stressing that India would work with Africa to realise the continent's potential, Singh said it was imperative to encourage bilateral trade as well as transfer of technology.
