PM'S statement results in Kashmir shutdown

Separatists of Kashmir called for a shutdown to protest against an alleged statement by the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh regarding their role in the valley. The shutdown resulted in the closure of all shops, business establishments, schools, colleges and government offices remained closed and vehicles stayed off from the roads.
