Red alert issued in Uttarakhand due to heavy rain

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, issued a red alert on Thursday, in wake of the arrival of the monsoons, resulting in floods and landslides in the region. Addressing the media in Dehradun, Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the administration of Chardham, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and other sensitive areas has been directed to issue red alert. All the police officials and staff members of power, drinking, water departments and hospitals were asked to remain on duty.
