SC lifts stay on Gujarat riot cases

The Supreme Court on Friday lifted a stay on the trial of 2002 Gujarat riots cases and directed the authorities concerned to set up fast track courts and conduct hearings on a day-to-day basis. The apex court ordered the setting up of designated courts for riot cases in Ahmedabad, Anand, Sabarkanta, Mehsana and Gulbarga districts.
