Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna today called on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran. Krishna is on a four-day visit to the country to attend the G-15 summit. The visit is aimed at improving the bilateral ties between the two countries that have been affected as India has been voting against Tehran on the nuclear issue in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Krishna is likely to explain New Delhi's position. As a next step to enhancing ties,the two sides will hold the 16th Indo-Iran joint commission meeting in New Delhi shortly.
