Traditional Inlay art fades with passage of time

The traditional 'inlay art' adorning the walls of Taj Mahal is fading away with the passage of time due. This is happening due to poor economic returns and lack of official patronage. Historians trace the origins of the Inlay art in Mughal era to 1628 AD when royal empress Noor Jehan, built Itmad-ud-daula to commemorate her father. Later, the intricate art along with its artisans became invaluable, when it embellished the walls of the Taj Mahal.
