Truck drivers strike hit Indo-Bangladesh trade

The export market at the India-Bangladesh border came to a standstill on Saturday, after enraged Indian truck drivers called for an indefinite shutdown near Malda district of West Bengal. The Indian truck drivers blocked the border roads to protest the death of a truck driver who was allegedly beaten to death by certain locals in Bangladesh. According to the protestors, an Indian truck driver, Julu Sekh, had gone to Bangladesh to unload his consignment of goods when he was severely beaten by certain unidentified persons.
