Vedanta workers agitated amid fears of losing jobs

Workers of Vedanta Aluminium Limited (VAL) are now in fear of loosing their job after Environment Ministry rejected the clearance for the plans of the unit's refinery's expansion. The VAL workers on Thursday smashed office equipment and vandalized property of the factory in order to express their anger over the issue. Angry workers demanded an extra three months salary from the authorities after the closure of the refinery was announced, and after the discussion for the same, they broke windows, computers and office furniture.
