Watch | Taj Mahal minaret pinnacle fell off during repair work

Maintenance workers found the pinnacle of the south western minaret of Taj Mahal lying on a cleaning platform surrounding the structure in Agra on Monday, sparking worries that the turret may have fallen off. While officials of National Monument Security Committee said it fell off during the ongoing repair work and termed it as the shortcoming of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the latter said confirmed that the structure was in fact removed. The ASI has also covered up the top of the minaret with a piece of cloth and work to restore it has begun on Tuesday.
