WB Police announce surrender policy for Maoists

With an aim to encourage the Maoists in West Bengal to abjure violence, police announced a special 'Surrender Policy' on Sunday, under which it promises a handsome rehabilitation package to the ultras who lay down arms. According to officials, a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 would also be granted as sustenance allowance to those who have surrendered but remain unemployed, as part of the policy.
