Iran says a new “De-Confliction Cell” has been created during U.S.-Iran talks in Switzerland to help maintain the Lebanon ceasefire and prevent renewed hostilities. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei described the mechanism as an innovative tool established with mediators to ensure stability on the ground. Tehran also revealed that a separate arrangement is being developed to guarantee safe passage for commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The announcements came after the first round of talks in Burgenstock, with Iranian officials claiming important understandings were reached to pave the way for negotiations on a final agreement.
