Maha: 3-month pregnant forest officer brutally thrashed; Ex-Sarpanch & wife held

A three-month pregnant Forest Guard in Maharashtra's Satara district was beaten up by a man and his wife on January 19. Sindhu Sanap, was kicked and dragged by the former Sarpanch allegedly over a forest labourer transfer dispute. The police have now arrested the couple after the video of the assault went viral. The man is an ex-Sarpanch and member of the local forest committee. As per police, the man was unhappy over the forest officer taking contractual labourers to the area for tiger census without his permission. The victim however, alleged that the accused demanded money but she refused. She also claimed that the couple beat her husband with slippers. Maharashtra's women commission has taken cognisance of the incident and demanded an immediate report from Satara SP. Watch the viral video.
