‘Modi govt prioritized…’: Jaishankar on India's foreign policy & LAC standoff

Hailing PM Modi's foreign policy, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the Modi government always prioritised security in foreign policy. He was speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram when he reiterated India's firm position on the LAC standoff. "In the last two years, we have been very clear and very effective in ensuring that no attempt to change the status quo unilaterally on the line of actual control will be done by us. Chinese occupied several areas in 1962 that are strategic including Ladakh creating challenges for boundary forces." He also stressed that talks are on to resolve the boundary issues between the two countries through discussions involving their military commanders and diplomats.
