Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a potentially tense but important meeting with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, their first in-person interaction since February 2025. The talks are expected to focus on the long-pending India–US trade deal, American plans for the Iran war, and fallout from a recent US strike off Oman that killed three Indian seafarers, even as both sides try to keep strategic and defence cooperation on track.
