A retired J&K Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Shafi, was shot dead by terrorists in Baramulla district on December 24. The incident took place when a former J&K police officer was praying azan at a mosque in the Gantmulla area. J&K police, in a post, said the Shafi succumbed to injuries. The area has been cordoned off to nab the terrorists. The attack came two days after three J&K civilians who were taken for questioning following the December 21 terror attack on the Army were found dead.
