AIIMS Delhi gets robotic lab for 2 lakh tests/day amid Covid 3rd wave fears

Amid the prevalence of Covid-19, AIIMS Delhi has developed a 'robotic smart lab’. The high-tech lab has the capacity to conduct around 2 lakh general tests in a day. The lab, started in July 2020, was inaugurated by former health minister Harsh Vardhan. On Monday, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited AIIMS & reviewed the lab. AIIMS' hi-tech robotic lab is fully information technology & digitally enabled. The lab, which currently conducts 3,000-4,000 tests/day, can conduct 8,000 tests/hour. AIIMS' hi-tech robotic lab also offers some free of cost tests like the D-Dimer test. The smart lab provides high-quality diagnostics & reduced time in producing reports. Doctor said the lab conducts over 70-270 advanced tests & some of them are free of cost.
