India gets new Air Defence System VSHORADS; DRDO successfully test-fires very short range missile

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully tested two flights of the Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) on Tuesday. The missiles were launched from a ground-based portable launcher at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur off Odisha coast. VSHORADS is an indigenously designed and developed Man Portable Air Defence System (MANPAD) and has many new technologies such as miniaturised Reaction Control System and integrated avionics.
