Indian Army wants these special radars along China border | Explained

The Indian Army is looking to equip itself with modern low-level lightweight radar (LLLWR) to conduct surveillance along the country's contested border with China, given that the difficult, mountainous terrain in the region makes it easy for enemy aircraft and drones to enter while flying at low altitudes. The Army wants a 3D active electronically scanned array radar with a range of 50 km with tactical control of air defence weapons.
