Muslim body appeals mosques in Maha to take permission before using loudspeakers

Amid no end to the row over the use of loudspeakers for Azaan, the Jamiat-Ulama-I-Hind unit in Maharashtra has made an appeal to all mosques to take prior permission from the state govt for the use of loudspeakers. This came after the Maharashtra govt banned the use of loudspeakers at religious sites without prior permission. Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil said that new guidelines in this regard will be formulated soon. The controversy erupted after MNS chief Raj Thackeray issued an ultimatum to the State govt to remove loudspeakers atop mosques by May 3. He also warned of playing Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques at a higher volume if his demands are not met. Watch this report to know more.
