PM Modi Vs CM Mamata over Bengal Chief Secretary: Who holds the moral high?

PM Modi and CM Mamata have locked horns again, this time over the sudden transfer of West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay. After the Centre sought Mr Bandyopadhyay's services and asked the state government to immediately release the top bureaucrat, the Chief Minister has now refused to release the top bureaucrat. Alapan Bandyopadhyay, a 1987-batch IAS officer, was scheduled to retire on May 31 after but was granted a three-month extension following a nod from the Centre to work on Covid management. This came after the Chief Minister and her top officials allegedly snubbed the Prime Minister during his visit to take stock of the post cyclone Yaas situation in the state.
