During the SCO Summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin commended PM Narendra Modi for his leadership and organization of the virtual event. During his opening remarks, Putin hailed India's presidency at the summit and expressed Russia's support for the draft of the "New Delhi Declaration." India has made proposals on combating terrorism and de-radicalization as well as climate change, promotion of millets, and digital transformation. The summit was also attended by China's Xi Jinping and Pakistan's Shehbaz Sharif.
