Tricolour unfurled at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk; Omar stokes row over ‘removal' later

After a gap of nearly two decades, national flag was unfurled again at Srinagar's historic Lal Chowk on Republic Day today. A group of activists unfurled the Tricolour under heavy security. However a political controversy erupted after the national flag was removed from atop Clock Tower of Lal Chowk. National Conference leader and former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted the pictures of the Clock Tower without Tricolour and accused the organisers of insulting the national flag.
