Watch: Over 150 NSG commandos conduct counter-terrorism drills in Madurai

Over 150 NSG personnel conducted counter-terrorism security exercise in Tamil Nadu. NSG commandos carried out the drill from a helicopter at Amma ground in Madurai. Commandos also conducted rehearsals on security measures in event of terrorist attack. NSG was raised as a federal contingency force in 1984 to undertake specialist operations. NSG is equipped for counterterrorism operations, hostage rescue, anti hijack operations. Popularly known as ‘black cat’ commandos, NSG personnel also guards VVIPs.
