Iran has issued a fresh warning amid rising tensions in the Middle East, with IRGC Quds Force Commander Esmail Qa'ani suggesting that Israeli military operations in Lebanon could trigger a wider regional response. Qa'ani accused Israel and the United States of continuing aggression and warned that the conflict was entering a more dangerous phase. The Iranian commander also raised concerns about two of the world's most critical maritime chokepoint, the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. According to remarks carried by Fars News Agency, Qa'ani threatened to "equalize" traffic conditions in both waterways, a statement widely interpreted as a warning that disruptions seen in Hormuz could be replicated in Bab el-Mandeb. The Bab el-Mandeb connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and serves as a vital route for global trade and energy shipments, while the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most important oil transit corridors. Any disruption to either route could have major consequences for global shipping, energy markets and international commerce. Qa'ani also warned that continued Israeli operations could activate additional fronts across the Middle East. He argued that Israeli actions were strengthening the resolve of the so-called "Axis of Resistance," raising fresh concerns that the conflict could expand beyond its current battlefields and draw more regional actors into the crisis.
