'Nuclear Weapons In Space' Debate At UN: What Russia, USA, China, EU Said Amid Rise In Conflict

There was heated debate at the United Nations General Assembly on May 6 over the debate after Russia vetoed a US-backed resolution to prevent a nuclear arms race in outer space on April 24. Russia’s UN ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, accused the US and Western nations of planning for the military exploration of outer space, including the deployment of weapons, in particular “strike combat systems.” US deputy ambassador Robert Wood said there is credible information that Russia is developing a new satellite carrying a nuclear device.” Watch
