Raise your voice against online abuse #AntiTrollingDay
Hindustan Times’ campaign #LetsTalkAboutTrolls concludes today i.e April 26 with us marking the day as ‘Anti-Trolling Day’. We kick-started this campaign after Gurmehar Kaur, the young Delhi University student, was abused and bullied on social media after she posted a picture of hers holding a placard after the Ramjas College row. Through the series, we have tried to bring people’s attention towards the fact that trolling for women is much worser than trolling for men. When women are trolled, the abuse goes to a point where they start getting rape threats. In the course of this campaign, we had many people writing for us like Barkha Dutt, Rana Ayyub, Madhu Kishwar and Karuna Nundy.
