Ukraine says Russia has used a new drone equipped with a steel-cutting warhead for the first time, amid renewed attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure. Ukrainian defence technology adviser Serhii Beskrestnov claimed the warhead is designed to destroy high-voltage power pylons and steel structures, including bridges. He said the weapon features a 40-kilogram main charge and four additional modules. Kyiv also reported a major Russian attack on September 30 involving drones and ballistic missiles, with emergency power outages introduced in several regions. Ukrainian officials have warned of a difficult winter as Russia continues targeting the country’s power system ahead of colder weather.
