Russian jet fires missile near British aircraft; Moscow says ‘technical snag’

A missile was released from a Russian aircraft near an unarmed Royal Air Force plane. The Russian jet fired a missile while the British plane was on a routine patrol over the Black Sea. The British Defence Minister says the incident occurred on the 29th of September. The minister said that the incident was potentially a dangerous engagement, but it was not deemed a deliberate escalation. Russia has acknowledged the incident took place in international airspace.
