A special cake honouring Captain Smit Machchhar steals the show at Mysuru Dasara, adding a unique highlight to the grand celebrations in Karnataka. The tribute celebrates the captain and draws attention amid the vibrant festivities of the world-famous Mysuru Dasara festival. Captain Smit Machchhar was attacked by the flight’s first officer, who attempted to hijack Flydubai Flight 1073 while Machchhar was serving as its captain. Despite suffering life-threatening injuries, Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door from the inside, allowing the crew and passengers to overpower the attacker. The aircraft then made a safe emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. No fatalities were reported. The special cake was made to honour Captain Machchhar’s bravery.
