The Indian cricket board on November 16 sought an explanation from chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar for continuing to write newspaper columns defying the BCCI's ban. BCCI had banned the Indian cricketers from speaking to the media and writing columns in any languages. This decision is taken by the BCCI to prevent private and classified information regarding the national team and its management appearing in bold prints and flashed on small screen.
