The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has said that it would consider action against Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna after the Olympic games, for refusing to partner with top ranked Leander Paes. AITA general secretary Anil Khanna said that disciplinary action before the games would be inappropriate. The AITA made it clear that it was in Paes' favour in the controversy, with Khanna saying that Bopanna and Bhupathi's criticism of their peer was based on 'half-truths'. Meanwhile, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) acting President Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that the row created a negative precedent, which could be replicated in other sports as well.
