Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration, led by Tukaram Mundhe, has issued show-cause notices to Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff over their endorsement of Vimal Elaichi. The FDA alleges the campaign could amount to surrogate or indirect promotion of prohibited pan masala or tobacco-related products. The actors have been given 15 days to submit their explanations, with further action possible if their responses are deemed unsatisfactory. The notice also cites the Vimal brand’s association with pan masala. Separately, the FDA suspended a Pizza Hut outlet licence in Karad over alleged food safety and hygiene violations.
