Why Chernobyl nuclear plant's capture by Russia is key to Putin's Ukraine plan

On day 1 of the Ukraine invasion, the Russian forces captured Chernobyl - the site of the world's worst nuclear disaster in April 1986. The capture was significant for Vladimir Putin's men simply because it is the fastest route of Ukraine invasion for the forces and can help Russia oust Volodymyr Zelensky's government. The facility is located immediately north of Chernobyl town and near the city of Pripyat, and is protected by a protective shell after a catastrophic leak spilled radioactive waste across thousands of square kilometres. The tragic nuclear tragedy had forced millions of people to flee Chernobyl and Pripyat, and the exact number of those who died is still unclear. Watch this video to know more.
