Germany: Car painted with slogans crashes into Chancellor Merkel’s office gate

Massive security deployment was seen at the office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel after a car crashed into the gate of her office building. A vehicle with slogans painted on its sides crashed into the gate of the German Chancellery in Berlin. On the left side of the car, 'you (expletive) killers of children and old people' was written in white paint, while on the right side, the slogan said 'stop globalisation politics'. Police took the driver into custody and said that they are investigating whether it was an intentional act. Europe is on alert amid a spate of attacks by suspected Islamist terrorists. At least 8 people have reportedly been killed in attacks in Paris, Nice and Vienna in recent days.
