More details continue to emerge about the plot to assassinate Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. Initially, Iranian officials claimed Haniyeh was killed in an airstrike in Tehran on July 31. However, subsequent reports said it was a bomb blast and not an airstrike. The Telegraph reported that Israel's spy agency Mossad hired Iranian security officials to plant the bomb. I.R.G.C. officials told 'The Telegraph' that the 'Ansar al Mahdi' unit, reportedly tasked with protecting senior officials, may be compromised.
