Koala with different coloured eyes

A young, injured koala recently rescued from the roads of Queensland, Australia, was found to have a rare condition which gave it eyes of different colours. It is a rare genetic condition and only one out of thousand Koalas have it. After being rescued the female koala named Bowie was kept in the intensive care unit and is now recovering well. The International Union for Conservation of Nature classes koalas as a vulnerable species with a population of approximately 330,000.
