Ukrainian forces are struggling to hold back Russian forces in the border town of Vovchanks in Kharkiv region. Within 7 days of its incursion, Russia has reportedly captured over 12 villages in the area and grabbed 278 sq kms of Ukrainian land. On May 16, head of Kharkiv region said Russia had gained ground near Lyptsi border village. But while Ukrainian forces try to stabilise the frontlines, a top nato commander questioned Russia's ability to advance further.
