Arab ambassadors in Islamabad welcome the decision of major political parties to run in the upcoming Pakistani elections. On December 11, they met with the president of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. The Arab ambassadors have also met with Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of an Islamist party, Jamiat Ullema-e-Islam (JUI), all of whom are contesting the poll.
