Not opposed to non-European IMF head: Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, addressing the 31st Singapore lecture on Thursday, said she supports French finance minister Christine Lagarde as the next International Monetary Fund chief, adding that she was not opposed to non-European candidates assuming the top post in future.
