Sri Lanka welcomes Congress victory

SL Foreign Secretary Palitha Kohone has welcomed the victory of the Congress-led alliance in India, adding that the defeat of the Tamil Tiger rebels would lead to a further strengthening of relations between the two countries. His comments at a press conference came after SL President Mahinda Rajapaksa declared a victory over the LTTE.
