Watch: Thousands of refugees welcomed by locals in Germany, Austria

Thousands of Arab and Asian asylum seekers continued to cross the Hungarian border into Austria and Germany on sunday morning. Some travelers were overcome with tears after being greeted with cheers and applause as they exited trains in Frankfurt. For many, the journeys have not been easy, most of them are fleeing conflict in areas including Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. But for some, the journey to western Europe was far from over. Protests broke out in Greece on friday night, after police told 1,000 migrants hoping to board a ferry to Athens to leave because they had no tickets.
