In what appears to be a shift in veto on Leopard tanks for Ukraine, Germany has said it will not 'stand in the way' of Poland sending tanks to Kyiv. This has been the clearest signal yet from Berlin that European allies could deliver the German-made tanks. The statement was given by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to a French TV station. Last week Germany faced severe backlash from European allies after it stubbornly declined to take a decision on whether to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Kyiv has been demanding tanks to counter an escalating offensive by the Russian troops.
