Iran Israel war: The Israeli Defence Forces have stated that residents can now leave protected areas, suggesting that the missile barrage from Iran is over.  

Iran Israel war news: Israel's two largest carriers, El Al Israel Airlines and Arkia, have suspended rescue flights that allowed people to return to Israel until further notice. 

El Al said it would also extend its cancellation of scheduled flights through June 27.

Following US strikes on Iran, the Israeli airspace has been closed until further notice.

Iran Israel war: Iran has executed a man named Majid Moseybi, reported the judiciary news outlet Mizan. The execution comes after he was convicted of spying for Israel and seeking to share sensitive information with its intelligence agency Mossad.

Iran Israel war news: As per FlightRadar24, airlines have continued to avoid large parts of the Middle East on Sunday after the US struck Iranian nuclear sites. 

"Following US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, commercial traffic in the region is operating as it has since new airspace restrictions were put into place last week," FlightRadar24 said on X.

Its website further showed airlines were not flying in the airspace over Iran, Iraq, Syria and Israel. They have chosen other routings such as north via the Caspian Sea or south via Egypt and Saudi Arabia, even if it results in higher fuel and crew costs and longer flight times.

Iran Israel war news: Israeli state media has stated that at least 30 missiles have been fired towards Israel by Iran. 

“An additional barrage of missiles was launched toward the State of Israel. The public is requested to continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command. The IDF repeats and emphasizes not to publish and share the footage and locations of hits,” stated the IDF on Telegram.

Iran Israel war news: Australia, which shut its embassy in Tehran and evacuated staff on Friday, continued to push for a diplomatic end to the conflict.

“We have been clear that Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile program has been a threat to international peace and security,” said a government official in a written statement. 

“The security situation in the region is highly volatile. We continue to call for de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy," they added further.

Iran Israel war: Iran's ambassador to the United Nations has called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting after US struck three Iranian nuclear sites. 

In a letter, obtained by AP, Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani, said that the UN's most powerful body must “take all necessary measures” to hold the US accountable under international law and the UN charter.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns and denounces in the strongest possible terms these unprovoked and premeditated acts of aggression, which have followed the large-scale military attack conducted by the Israeli regime on 13 June against Iran's peaceful nuclear sites and facilities," the letter added. 

Iran Israel war news: The IDF has stated Iran has launched retaliatory strikes against Israel. Following the alert, air raid sirens have been sounded across Israel. 

“A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel. The public is requested to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command. At this time, the IAF is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat,” said the IDF. 

Iran Israel war news: Major US cities such as Washington DC and New York City are on alert after the US struck Iran.

As the US braces for a possible Iranian retaliation, the NYPD shared it will deploy "additional resources to religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites across NYC and coordinate with our federal partners."

The Metropolitan Police Department also issued a similar statement and said it was "actively coordinating with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to share information and monitor intelligence in order to help safeguard residents, businesses, and visitors in the District of Columbia."

The Los Angeles Police Department also issued a statement and said it was on "high alert" for any threats to public safety.

The United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has committed a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT by attacking Iran's peaceful nuclear installations.

The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior.

In accordance with the UN Charter and its provisions allowing a legitimate response in self-defense, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people.

Iran Israel news: The conflict between Iran and Israel escalated on Sunday after US President Donald Trump announced that US struck three nuclear sites in the region.

While the conflict between Iran and Israel dates back to the foundation of the state of Israel, the most recent conflict is due to an Israeli military strike on Iranian miitary bases and nuclear sites.

On June 13, Israel launched ‘Operation Rising Lion’, which targeted Iranian military bases and nuclear sites. In response, Iran launched a series of strikes and attacks against Israel. 

For the past two weeks, both Tehran and Tel Aviv have exchanged regular fire and attacks, killing over 400 in Iran and around 24 in Israel.

Iran Israel war news: Vermont senator Bernie Sanders has slammed US President Donald Trump for the “unconstitutional” strikes against Iran. 

 Speaking at a rally, Sanders agreed with the chants of “no more war” and said - 

“I agree. And I want to tell you something: not only is this news that I’ve just heard alarming, that all of you have just heard, but it is so grossly unconstitutional.  All of you know that the only entity that can take this country to war is the US Congress. The president does not have the right.”

Iran Israel war news: The US entered the war against Iran by attacking three nuclear sites. As per officials, the US used its B-2 bombers to strike the Fordow nuclear site in Iran. 

As per an NYT report, these B-2 bombers which struck Iran flew for 37 hours on stop. 

“The B-2’s that struck the Iranian nuclear sites early Sunday flew non-stop for about 37 hours from their base in Missouri, refueling several times mid-air,” a U.S. official told NYT on the condition of anonymity

"In the pages of human history, this is a moment when the principles of liberty, responsibility, and security have triumphed. A decisive moment between the axis of terror and evil and the axis of hope," Herzog wrote on X.

"This brave step serves the security and safety of the entire free world. I hope it will lead to a better future for the Middle East — and help advance the urgent release of our hostages held in captivity in Gaza," he added further.

Israel Iran war news: Israel has closed its airspace as part of a precautionary measure after US' strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. 

The Israel Airports Authority announced the closure and added that land crossings into Egypt and Jordan will remain open.

Israel Iran war news: Taking to Truth Social, US President Donald Trump has warned of  the use of ‘greater force’ if Iran retaliates. 

“ANY RETALIATION BY IRAN AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE MET WITH FORCE FAR GREATER THAN WHAT WAS WITNESSED TONIGHT. THANK YOU! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,” he wrote on Truth Social.

Iran Israel war news: Yemen-based militant group and Iranian backed Houthis have stated they will be resuming their attacks on US ships in the Red Sea after its strikes against Iran. 

"The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed that they will target American ships and warships in the Red Sea, if the Americans are involved in an attack and aggression against Iran with the Israeli enemy," a spokesman for the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen was quoted as saying by Iran International.

“It is impossible to remain silent about any American attack and aggression supporting the Israeli enemy against Iran aimed at enabling the Israeli enemy to control the entire region,” the spokesperson added further.

Iran Israel war news LIVE: In response to the US strikes on Iran, Houthi officials have warned of consequences for Washington. 

As per CNN, Houthi political bureau member Hizam al-Assad has posted saying that “Trump must bear the consequences.”

Ahead of the strikes, the Houthis has warned the US that it will attack American ships in the Red Sea if Washington joins the Israeli strikes against Iran. 

Iran Israel war news: Reactions are pouring in from Iran and Iranian officials after US struck three nuclear sites on Sunday. In the latest reaction, a representative for Khamenei has called for retaliatory attacks on the US.  

"It is now our turn to act without delay. As a first step, we must launch a missile strike on the US naval fleet in Bahrain and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French ships," said Hossein Shariatmadari in Kayhan newspaper. 

US strikes Iran news: “There will be either peace, or there will be tragedy for Iran far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days,” Trump said during his address at the White House. 

“Remember, there are many targets left. Tonight’s was the most difficult of them all, by far, and perhaps the most legal, but if peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed, and skill," the US president added. 

In his address to the nation, US president Donald Trump stated that the ‘Middle east bully’ Iran must make peace. Trump further warned of future attacks if Iran does not “choose peace.” 

"For 40 years, Iran has been saying, “Death to America, Death to Israel. They have been killing our people, blowing off their arms, blowing off their legs with roadside bombs. That was their specialty. We lost over a thousand people and hundreds of thousands throughout the Middle East and around the world have died as a direct result of their hate in particular, so many were killed by their general, Qasem Soleimani. I decided a long time ago that I would not let this happen. It will not continue,” said Trump.

“If peace does not come quickly, we will go after other targets,” Trump added further.

Iran Israel war LIVE: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemened the escalation from the US amid the Iran-Israel conflict. 

“I am gravely alarmed by the use of force by the United States against Iran today. This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge – and a direct threat to international peace and security,” he wrote on X. 

“There is a growing risk that this conflict could rapidly get out of control – with catastrophic consequences for civilians, the region, and the world. I call on Member States to de-escalate and to uphold their obligations under the UN Charter and other rules of international law,” said Guterres. 

“There is no military solution. The only path forward is diplomacy,” he added further.
