Lindsay Clancy trial: New ‘Good Moms Have Scary Thoughts’ and 'I'm going to die' revelation as jurors see evidence

Lindsay Clancy trial: A book named "Good Moms Have Scary Thoughts" — discovered by police in a kitchen cabinet at the Clancys' residence in Duxbury, Massachusetts, following Lindsay Clancy's act of strangling her three children in the basement — was suggested by one of the professionals who was treating her for postpartum anxiety.
The jurors were shown a photographic evidence of the book earlier during the trial.
Rebecca Jollotta testified
Nurse practitioner Rebecca Jollotta, a psychiatric nurse practitioner who treated Clancy, testified on Tuesday that on December 1, 2022, she advised Clancy to collect complimentary books from the perinatal clinic where she was employed — including the unsettlingly titled book found in Clancy's residence.
Clancy informed Jollotta that she would retrieve the reading materials during her upcoming appointment at the clinic, the NP conveyed to the jury on Tuesday.
'I'm going to die and I don't care'
On December 2, 2022, Lindsay Clancy communicated with nurse Rebecca Jollotta, expressing her feelings of despair, stating, "I feel like I'm going to die and I don't care," as the jury was informed.
Clancy further elaborated, “I also feel concerningly numb right now. I feel like I’m going to die and I don’t care. What do I do about this.”
In response, Jollotta said, "this sounds like depression" and provided Clancy with resources to contact should her situation worsen over the weekend.
"I have never felt anything like this before," Clancy stated in another message to Jollotta, asking, "Do you think over time these symptoms will go away?"
"All of this sounds like postpartum depression," Jollotta responded. “Even though they feel terrible, they are symptoms of an illness that is very real and very treatable. This is going to get better.”
Prosecutors assert that on January 24, 2023, Lindsay Clancy killed her children — Cora, 5 years old, Dawson, 3 years old, and Callan, 8 months old — after dispatching her then-husband Patrick to run some errands. Later, she jumped from the second floor of the house and became paralyzed from the waist down as a result of the fall.
